The Parable of the Workers on the Vineyard
The parable of the workers on the vineyard is one that has a number of different stages to it. We naturally sympathize with those who are called first, and as they are being paid at the end of the day. Those who worked for a long time receive much the same pay as people who work just for a couple of hours.
