The Importance of Dreaming

There's something about the intellectual pursuit of thinking through highly idealized political ideals or political conception of justice that could have some practical significance. Some people, it's tempting to simply think that if your ideal theory concludes with principles that we can see, we're never going to meet and probably shouldn't even set out for. But my central aim is not to ask, is it practically important to understand ideal theory? I'm mainly arguing that what justice requires could be unrealistic and that wouldn't count against the theory. For what it's worth, it could have various kinds of practical significance.
