In the late 1960s and early 70s, there was a real turning away from politics among black power activists. Thomas really takes that back and runs with it to think that all politics will always be white Politics reflects what's in the air, which is not this left on right thing. Now he doesn't get many black votes, but his campaign makes a big play for black votes with the slogan "Capitalism Is The Answer"
