Alchemy and the Symbolic Life

The symbolic life involves us at the deepest levels of our being. We can't just stand back and be observers, we must engage the process with our full participation. Ultimately, we have to recognize that we are the material being worked on. And we are the goal toward which we strive. The point of having some kind of practice of the symbolic life is not simply for the purpose of intellectual curiosity,. or some form of entertainment. It's a means of psychological and spiritual growth.
