The issue about the mechanical reproduction of beauty is that it's selling it as an unattainable ideal. As a consumer, you have to believe that in some sense, that could be you. And so there's something about having a unique work of art, for instance, a painting and a museum as opposed to this thing that there are many, many copies of everywhere.
