The Silence of a Tree Clearing

It looked as though the trees had been deliberately planted in a circle. If that was the case judging by their growth they must have been planted like that almost 50 years ago. In the center was a large piece of stone crudely hacked into what looked like a small seator. Maybe an altar. As I stood down on the edge I realized that the trees around me were completely silent. After a few seconds of examination saw that it didn't look like there were any animals at all around this clearing.
