The Power on the Other Side Isn't in the Room

We are not making very much progress. We clearly understand each other's positions, but the gap is still very wide at this time. The power with the train operating company sits directly with the secretary of state. And our members simply aren't prepared to accept that. When we sorted out the redundances and the conditions, then we would move on to pay - but we have to have those two elements sorted out first. So pay is actually at the bottom of our gend and not at the top, despite what the press tell us.
