Ann vinge is an excellent writer of both science and science fiction. The original essay from 19 93 he presented to nassau here in cleveland, is on line and easy to read. Key notion is that, in terms of mintrisation, comparing transistors to brain cells, the superhuman is long since reached al best. Transistors are far smaller than neurons. How much farther we can push that in terms ofmintisation seems rather secondary to other problems.
