Perched Deposits - What Are They?
The lowest part of the typically doesn't have the chlorides. Where where they are is typically near the hies, but in the depressions that are closest to the hies. So we think these perch deposits came to be because the source of the water was in the hills,. That it was surface water running off, collecting salt from the upper few meters of soil and then depositing it in this sort of chain of lakes.
