Jordan Neely's Chokehold
Attorneys for the subway rider who placed Jordan Neely in a chokehold say he never intended to harm him. The case has reminded many New Yorkers of another deadly train incident almost 40 years ago. Bernie Ghetts was catapulted into the national spotlight in 1984 when he shot four black teenagers he said were trying to rob him, prompting protests and accusations of racism. He later admitted to making racial slurs three years before the shooting.
