The Death Penalty in the Case of Jennings
The Washington Post called it an outrageous conviction and said, quote, no man's life will be safe if the courts instruct juries to regard as conclusive the testimony of partisan experts. The weight of this evidence is very, very strong but what is that weight? How do you put it in front of a juror so they understand, oh, this is really strong, but is there a chance that somebody else could possess these prints? Yeah, it's hedging your bets in a lot of ways. But when you just put all of these circumstances, unfortunately, with Thomas Jennings, it seems pretty clear what happened.
