The Sirjourner Truth Festival

The Sirjourner Truth Festival, Film Festival happened at the University of Mexico a month ago. It was organized by Margot Jefferson, Patricia Spears, Patricia Spears Jones, Faith Ringel, Monica Freeman and Michelle Wallace. In 1976, Black women like Faith Ringel and Audrey Lord were basically like, we kind of made an imprint in literature and visual arts. What we need to do though is to penetrate filmmaking, documentary making. Their idea was to get up and coming filmmakers, documentarians and be like literary and visual art giants together.
