Can you imagine being so sure of your own worthiness that you can rely on god's justice, instead of god's mercy, to make it? To be able to rely on our own worthiness, not for salvation, but to be able to go to god and know that there's nothing we've done that would keep him from blessing us. And he pours out those blessings in abundance. Job: "I hunger and thirst after righteousness more than i do after my necessary food"
