We believe that enshby was low in the past because of a very strong bias in our brains. But without the past hypothesis, it's much more likely that air molecules randomly push the wineglass off the desk than your swinging arm did. So now we know that we're biased, shouldn't be correct for our bias and choose to believe whatever we know to be more likely? Why we why should we continue to believe the past hypothesis? Welcome to the May 2022 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). I take the large number of questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable size — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
