Why Are Carrots Orange?
There is a chemical in sunny delight called beta carotine. This chemical, if you take enough of it, will turn your skin yellow or orange. A carrot in its wild state looks much closer to a parsnip. Carrots are a pale white color in their natural, undomesticated state. About a thousand years ago, carrots were purple.
