Work is above activity which is what animals engage in for marx but it gets stolen from man by the division of labor work gets turned into labor and that's a grievous sin almost like a fall. Man is forced to make what somebody else envisions or is paid to do so and that's fake and abstract you don't get that sense of satisfaction you're reduced to the state of being mere animal or machine, dehumanizing the person who hires you despite the fact that they gave you a good job.
