Why Do You Have Hiccups?
A hiccup is when you have a nerve stimulating the diaphragm to contract quickly. The glottis is basically the opening on the top of the throat, so that closes and you get the sound. In medicine, we have to teach people to think of a broad range of what it could be, and not what it probably is.
