The Question of Paternalism

i see it happening in two ways. One is the paternalism of jewish institutional leadership. The idea that i am going to deny a child a hebrew school education or a bemi, basically as a way to deter parents from making that decision I disagree with. You're not doing anything other than damage to the child. Why should the child suffer? Of course that should never be done. It's just mind boggling to me that people have made that decision over the years and continued to. This is a situation where somehow we have gotten into a mind set that is ok to harm children,. Not in the sense of the circumstincin itself here. Were talking still about harming
