The Importance of the Lord's Supper in Expository Preaching

You can talk about the Lord's supper in a ministry of expository preaching, not just when you get to the passages that are explicitly on theLord's supper. If you're preaching about the tree of life or about Passover and many of the meals that we find scattered throughout the Old Testament, all of these are part of biblical theological threads that ultimately lead up to the Lord’s supper. Any text that points to us as the distinct people of God, a marked off people of God,. any text that has implications for membership. And today, obviously they have their way of doing that in the Old Testament today, we mark off the body of Christ through the supper.
