It's like a whole show, not tell thing, but never tell the reader a historical fact, it has to be relevant to the story if you're going to weave it in. How much of that balance are you conscious of when you're writing? I am very conscious of it for sure. There's an expectation with historical fiction, there's, there's what people expect to see. And as you've discovered things that surprise us and amazes, how do you balance that?"
