The Robin Hood of Poker
Barry tried to strike a compromise between his poker career and the sense that more was required of him than simply sitting in card rooms and making money. He was known as the Robin Hood of poker because at one point he was paying out of his own pocket to enter tournaments and then giving 100% of the proceeds to charity if he did win anything. Barry has also been known to mentor and befriend younger players, the most successful of which is Phil Ivey.
