90% of people who end up being diagnosed with some form of dissociative disorder did have trauma in their childhood that is related to this diagnosis. Dissociation, like we've talked about, it's basically a natural mechanism your body uses to help you survive trauma. It's an involuntary detachment from reality, often experienced as a disconnect from your sense of self, your thoughts and your memory.
