What's Wrong With the World?

Chesterton says that the thing worth doing is worth in value as a defense of the amateur. Father Brown stories are delighted to read, they're fun mystery stories but he does something in those stories that other detective stories don't do. He brings in the underdog detective who doesn't look like he's even capable of solving the crime. The story of Christianity and the history of the world tucked in between two covers of the book shows that the main character in history is Jesus.
