Debates on beauty and its apprehension is vastly more ancient than evolutionary biology. It's something that requires you to evaluate, to appreciate, to say. And I'm actually judging this to be a very fine thing. Before Darwin's project, there is the immense sense, at least for the English middle class, that the world is beautiful.
