Moses is almost... it just sounds like an Egyptian name. Early depictions of Yahweh as a warrior who rescues his people and beats up the Egyptians suggests that this is a very old memory on the part of the Israelites. Moses' element seems to be part of an originally longer Egyptian name. There's something about Egypt that seems to be real and strong in Israel's memory That would inspire the writing down of stories like this.
