What Is End-to-End Encryption on an Email Service?
Gmail is offering the capability to be able to send encrypted email between yourself as a user and other users on the platform. Think about it like this: 99% of the email out there goes out in plaintext. If you were to send an email over to Chris, it was something sensitive. Unless you encrypt the email contents itself, the email is going to transfer over the wire in plain texts.
