Target Date Funds: A Niche Money Market Account
The target date fund is essentially just a passive investment mix between stocks and bonds. The idea here is if you're younger you should be able to take more risk in your investment profile than older people who have less time horizon. As the U.S. population ages it shifts towards fixed income bonds so that's where really where you're lying to yourself. We are all like seeing this kind of transition point at the exact same time according to Morgan Stanley chief economist John MacIntosh.
