In medieval philosophy, there were two schools of thought that looked at the world in different ways. The Via Anticoa was realism and the Via Moderna embraced nominalism. William of Occam said we don't need to start with God and work through logical concepts to arrive at our goodness. Augustinian is a person we mention often on this show. There was a kind of revival of Augustinian thought.
