i think that so much of what we see as mutsing ideas don't matter, because ideas are often the weapons by which factions a win or lose. i agree with fuki yama that a lot of the problems come from taking certain ideas too far. But the reason why people are taking these ideas too far is to give themselves a permission structure to satisfy their more basic, anat desires for in power and ambition.
