The way ADHD is represented as a problem with attention and inhibition is grossly inadequate. The ability to control our own behavior, which becomes progressively better developed as we grow up, takes about 30 years for humans to reach their full self-regulation abilities. All of those executive functions I've just mentioned give us in a general sense self-regulation.
