In the early 2010s Modi starts to project himself as a national leader. This was all still while he was Chief Minister of Gujarat before he became Prime Minister. On that party the BJP is sometimes described as the political wing of the RSS. Is that a fair description? Oh absolutely, I mean there are a lot of people in the BJP who have never been members of the RSS but they've been working towards it.
