Anatomy Teaching in Edinburgh

Edinburgh in 1828 is one of the leading centres of medical training and dissection. To teach anatomy, you need cadavers on which to demonstrate in practice. We already get them from the poor, unclaimed in hospital or criminals legally executed. But at the university, they find a drab and lazy professor of anatomy who owes his post to the fact that his father and grandfather held it before him.
