The three hours of avoidance is anything that we do or don't do in response to a perceived threat. We retreat by not having conversations with people in our head, moving away from discomfort. People retreat when they get an email that they don't like. They don't read that email. My husband does all the time. He puts an email on the screen. The other screen is like, I'm just not going to look at that. It's what you're doing about skydiving. Yes. That's that flavor of avoidance.
