The Lord's Supper Is Based on the Events of the Last Supper
The lord's supper is based on the events in which risen christ revealed himself to his disciples. The fact that jesus eats fish when he appears to his disciples demonstrates his resurrection body. God only ate five animals for most of the old testament, cattle, sheep, goats, turtle, doves and pigeons. Perhaps we could see some symbolic import animals symbolize people.
