The Dissensions of the Hellenists

The word of God continued to spread and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly. There was a sensitivity among the Hellenists to feel like they were being treated, maybe not quite as first class citizens. So when you have these Greeks coming in, there began to be dissension and accusations of favoritism. This is the, where the permanent deaconate comes from to handle these issues.
