Copycat Architecture - What Is It?

The Bongard problems are a set of visual puzzles created in the 1960s by Russian computer scientist. Hofstadter wrote about this in Gerdalescher Bach, and one of his goals was to build a machine that could solve these problems. But then he decided that this was too difficult that he needed to idealize it even more. So he came up with this letter string analogy domain that has now been called the copycat domain.
