The Importance of Knowing Your Opponent

We need to get rid of these stupid, idiotic battles about like the one true way. I think it's symptomatic of an old school mentality that if you're not with us, like you're an absolute enemy, it will. So what are the things that you should be considering in the trade-offs? It's just gonna be my question. What works for them? What does work mean?
