Java's Future

I think that the Kotlin in its most basic form is nothing really new. There are new things right now, like coroutines or multi-platform capabilities. But the base of Kotlin is just, I believe, how Java should look like. It is how I think Java would look like, more or less, if it were making hard decisions and evolving as it should evolve. The big problem of Java is backward compatibility. They do not change to not break people's code.
