The Mobile Riverary Force in the Mekong Delta

The mobile riverary force was combined and made up of two units, the river assault flotilla one known as Task Force 117 and the Army's second brigade of the infantry division. Mekong Delta being such a watery environment had few roads. South Vietnamese units basically relied on roads. So this is a unit that is now going to be able to go up the canals and rivers and get at these remote areas where these Viet Cong base areas and main force units are located.
