The Memory of the Present Moment
The way that we make sense of our senses is by explaining, modeling, predicting, generating trajectories and paths of sensory data. So a very simple example would be where in your head and at what precise instant did this sentence get represented? It wasn't at the beginning of the sentence because you haven't heard all the words, it can't do just at the end of the sentence as I started speaking about several seconds ago. There is no instant, there's no present moment in your representational machinery that could possibly encompass the semantics and the meaning of this particular kind of trajectory. In that sense you are freed from the present, from the immediate point in this point in time, this instant
