The Contradictions Between Academics and Practitioners in Internationalization
It seems like there's this notion of internationalization that has become, I guess, hegemonic in a way. And so there's pressure to use the terms and the curriculum but then still try and undermine the very hegemonic nature of the idea itself. In North Carolina, they've brought in the international baccalaureate into impoverished schools as a way of sort of bringing up the level of education. Another example is where you try to introduce the international b Accolade into public schools in the States. So I think these are interesting examples of how there is a potential to disrupt dynamics of inequality by using this idea of internationalization.
