The French State's Language of Civil War
A group of retired soldiers and then the second including some serving soldiers used language that was not entirely dissimilar really to this recent language used by the police unions. Why is it the case that we have this language of civil war coming out of bits of the French state itself? Well, that letter was written by a sort of small group of retired officers who were pretty well directly connected to the far right or supporters of the far right. So I wouldn't necessarily say it represented a sort of general view of serving retired French army or military officers. It certainly represents one of the chunk of them feel, but it was a sort of just as the you know, it was connected to the presidential election
