What's There to Hope?

Jesus said he would allow the human condition to overwhelm him and destroy him. Why? Why did he do that? And it's not an idle question. This isn't Sunday School 101. That Jesus was binding himself to the suffering human condition. It was for us. There might be some of us who simply need once again to receive the committed love of Jesus in his life and death and resurrection as we take the bread and the cup.
