In the very earliest days, when a child is just learning to form their letters, they would print them. Most of us know of this as copywork. And so that's how we're going to refer to it to day. And really, the way charlotte mason envisioned it, it's one and the same. To see a whole thing in your mind, e look at it until you can see it perfectly, and then write fom memory.
