Elizabeth's parents were friends with a woman named annie massey who was connected to this man involved in army intelligence. Annie suggested that if they had explained the circumstances, he might be able to help them track down elElizabeth. So Nancy wrote a letter to this man, telling him the last she knew about elabeth's whereabouts. She gave a description of her daughter and some pictures,.
