The Black Panther Party

The black panther party was formed in the 1960s by Hughie newton and bobby seal. They were a group of African-American men who stood guard against police brutality, but also ran health care programs for families. The programms included free breakfast for children as well as housing help to people from different parts of the country. Author miranda mohammed says they looked to female leaders like ama baker or snick when making their decision on how to go about helping communities.
