Big History Is Not a Replacement for Smaller Scale History

Big history is really interesting, because in a scaling up like that, the argument that big historians are making. You see this immense tory of entrope, of the shaping of information, of energy being moved around. And you see a major environmental history for ther for the earth, in which human beings play an incredibly important part. Big history's not a replacement for smaller scale histories, but it's showing us something different. It's like taking a different zoom angle with your camera and seeing things slightly y. We have to structure our thinking and use abstractions in order to think about things.
