The Importance of Emphasis in Linguistics

William: I like the suggestion that at least a few conlangs could probably handle being discussed more than once spread out over two episodes. We could definitely spend five episodes on that list. My notes are anybody who describes a sound as emphatic should be beaten. There's at least three different things you could mean by that when you say a sound is emphatic. Why don't you just tell us the real one? In phonology, you probably should stick to the established terms as much as possible.
