The Shift in Baseball
The shift was a transformational way to align your defense in baseball. The goal was to take away ground balls, hard hit ground balls or softline drives that used to get through when you only had two guys on that side of the field. New rule: You have to have two players, two infielders on each side of second base. It took like a hundred years for people to come up with that idea.
