Professor Campbell doubts that F A P's have much of an influence on human behavior. imprinting is a largely learned behavior that happens very early in an animal's life and contributes to its survival recall for example the duckling that attaches to the first large animated object it sees and considers it to be its mother. These universal experiences give birth to the element target Duncan elementary ideas the unchanging motifs of the world's cultures now from a young in perspective I think Jung anticipates this, these universal experiences of infancy and childhood fill in and build out the already present crystalline structure of the archetype.
